JPEGView 3.2.1 is a maintenance release which addresses several bugs in the release version of JPEGView 3.2. A specific list of the bugs fixed is given below.
Also, two quick notes:
- If you aren't seeing any icons for TIFF, BMP, startup screen, or MacPaint files saved with JPEGView, try rebuilding your desktop. Do this by holding down the command and option keys as you start up your Mac.
- The JPEGView JFIF Preview extension included with this release is newer than the one included with JPEGView 3.2. It is now a "fat" extension which will load either PowerPC or 680x0 code as appropriate when it is loaded by QuickTime. If you want this bit of code to run native (it probably doesn't make much difference, really :-), then you should replace your old version of the JPEGView JFIF Preview with this new one.
Problems fixed in JPEGView 3.2.1:
1. No more random crashes, especially when loading JFIF files on a 680x0 machine.
2. Banding of interlaced GIFs now works properly.
3. Invalid files at the end of a slide show could cause bus errors; fixed now.
4. Altered EasyOpen resources to allow drag and drop of any file type.
5. The option to save JFIFs as PICT by default now works.
6. Slide show from memory now works as advertised.
7. Fat binary version no longer keeps 68k code in memory (was losing ~200k).
8. Fixed bug that caused 0-length files to get their types set wrong.
9. Modified CCITT RLE-compressed TIFF's are no longer inverted.
Minor changes in JPEGView 3.2.1:
1. Floating window drawing code now runs native on the PowerPC (thanks, Troy!)
2. JPEGView JFIF Preview 1.0.1 now runs native as well.
